Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 I searched and either it hasn't been addressed, or I am just blind and missed it. My subcategories in the admin pages are not being sorted, they appear to be displayed in the order they appear in the database. For example: Model Name --------------> A-F --------------> G-O --------------> P-Z are sorting properly, but in one of the subcategories, say G-O, the names are not in alpha order, they appear like Linda, Grace, Joan, Mary, etc instead of alpha order. Any ideas on what is missing? Thanks in advance, Charlie
Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Are you using the "sort order" feature of the admin for the categories and subcategories?
Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 I have the sort orders all set to "1" for the categories and subcats. Charlie
Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 I have the sort orders all set to "1" for the categories and subcats. Charlie Uh okay....Why not try changing that to 0 (zero) for the default sort order (I think its alphabetical but, I didn't go look) or set up the sort orders manually so that you are sure they are sorting correctly. For example: A-E sort order 1 F-H sort order 2 I-K sort order 3 ...and so on You can do the same with the subcategories.
Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Thanks, Kim, I'll give it a try and let you know. I appreciate the help and the quick reply. Charlie
Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Kim, worked like a charm! I don't know why I set them all at 1, unless I misread something somewhere. THanks for the help. Charlie

Guest Posted June 8, 2003 Posted June 8, 2003 Taylor, There is a thread in the Tips and Tricks section about sorting the products without making any modifications. http://www.www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32123
