Guest Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 After much work...it's up...thanks to carsten http://thefertilityshop.com/catalog Feedback is more than welcome!
Guest Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 You should read the stycky guidelines before you post your site for comments. Not only do the general forum rules apply here, but any stores discussed here must have the "Powered by osCommerce" text displayed. The_Bear
Ajeh Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 As noted, please update your site to include the "Powered by osCommerce" text displayed so I will not have to delete this thread. Thank you for your co-operation with the rules of the forum.
Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Two responses to your posting - and not one of them commented on your site - this forum makes you mad sometimes :x :x :x Here's some useful feedback (me hopes :D ) The main thing that struck me- was that there was no welcome message - is this still to come? - pehaps a short intro...."Welcome to the Fertility Shop ..... blah blah blah .." - I wonder if a short intro would be especially important for a site in this area? Product information looks good - nice and comprehensive - I don't know anything about the actual subject matter - will the product descriptions answer all of a customers questions? I personally, am not a fan of dhtml menus - I used one once for a site about a year ago - it seemed to work OK - people were able to find things nice and quickly- but when I reverted back to a more 'traditional' menu - it seemed to work better . The style of your left and right columns isn't matching - perhaps either put the background on the right - or remove the background from the left ? Overall - I haven't seen a store on this subject before - best of luck with it! BrianD
Guest Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Two responses to your posting - and not one of them commented on your site - this forum makes you mad sometimes There is a very good reason why that happened. Had bothered to actually read the two replies you wouldn't have said that.
Guest Posted June 7, 2003 Posted June 7, 2003 Thats now three responses with nothing to say except banging the drum about the 'sticky' :x - perhaps a more helpful attitude e.g. Your site is good/bad I like/dislike the color , you need to put a A 'Powered by OScommerce' at the bottom And if it's really such a problem - why not remove the sticky, and adopt the policy as laid out within the footer code itself - ie .... The following copyright announcement can only be appropriately modified or removed if the layout of the site theme has been modified to distinguish itself from the default osCommerce-copyrighted theme. Sticking to one rule for this makes it clear for everyone to follow
Guest Posted June 7, 2003 Posted June 7, 2003 Look, I hope this thread is not going to become one big argument. My point is this: If people want to remove the 'Powered by OSC' then it's up to their conscience/sense of fairness. If they install an open source software, remove the notice then sell it for $1000, there's no police or authority to have them arrested. They're just not being honest. Full stop. What is important here is that the poster is looking for help and advice in an oscommerce forum with a clearly laid out rule, and there IS an authority here than can remove/lock posts. Again, full stop. Follow the rules or look for help elsewhere. No need to bicker. Anyway, why the urge to remove the notice?
