Guest Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 unless it is your server it is very unlikely you will have root access. You could ask your hosting company to forward it - but I doubt they will.
Arpit Posted June 5, 2003 Author Posted June 5, 2003 ty for the reply, I do not own the server, so what happens to that mail now? toolcrazy Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Most servers will auto delete this type of mail. You need to get you email set up correctly so it comes back to your domain. Steve -------------------------
Guest Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 if the reply address was root@localhost then the mail wouldn't go anywhere at all. It is possible that <root@localhost> was the name and it was sent to a valid email address. It is best to ask the customer in question to forward the mail and have a look at the mail headers to see if it got there. if it did get to your server with the recipient of root you just have to type mail at the command line. Assuming you are running some form of unix on it. To be honest I would just put a valid address for your store email and put it down to learning.
