I Think I found a BUG ( Last Snapshop)

I have installed two oscommerce installations ( 2.2-MS1. and 2.2-MS2-CVS last snapshot) with the same database, in the same server, with the same configuration.

With the older installation the Login page works in the new one doesn't. ( I have already write a topic about these without solution yet).

Can someone tell me if it's a bug or not ???

I will compare the both packages , trying to find the diferences that make that the new one doesn't work ( in the computers that i try), but probably someone can help me with a tip form where to start.

Thank for your help

As of May 19, the entire account section was redone. ;)

Report your problem in the bug database.

Hi Daemonj, I appreciate your answer, but I have not understand the part of May 19 because the snapshot that I had used is from June 2.

I will try to cut and pase my post to the bug section, I had not publish there because of my limited Knownledge in oscommerce I can't assure that the thing I had found is a bug or not , I was waiting for someone sugesstion, for do that.......

Do you think is a bug or a different cookies treatment between the two releases ????

The date was mentioned because you said you were going to compare your CVS version against your MS1 version.

I was letting you know that a CVS version from May 19 or newer would be radically different and that you would be basically wasting your time trying to do a compare.

I will search the forums for your previous post on the topic and let you know if I think (which does not mean much) it is a bug or not.

Ok, I appreciate your help , and also the tip related with the dates relating with the databases. ( as you say It will be a waste of time trying to compare two products very different).

I really want to collaborate in what I can to solve this problem, because I wuold like to use the CVS release because I notice the change beteen both releases, but I need to put the site "live" ASAP.

Looking at your other post, I do not think that you have found a bug.

It sounds like a configuration issue.

When you login, is there an osCsid entry in your address bar?

In Admin ~ Configuration ~ My store, do you have Enable Search Engine Safe URLs to True?

Hi Daemonj

You Ask:

When you login, is there an osCsid entry in your address bar?

No - These means that I hadn't iniciate a session ? , How can I solve it?

You Ask:

In Admin ~ Configuration ~ My store, do you have Enable Search Engine Safe URLs to True?

No and Yes ( I try with both configurations with the same result)

Thanks Again.

When I enter to Configuration-MyStore i had the error :

Warning: Missing argument 2 for tep_get_zone_name() in /export/main/domains/www272/htdocs/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 259

Warning: Missing argument 3 for tep_get_zone_name() in /export/main/domains/www272/htdocs/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 259

Is related with my problem ?

Set Use Search Engine Safe URLs to False. That "feature" does not work and probably should be removed until it does work.

Did you copy your entire database from your old site to your new database or did you just do the catalog information (categories, products, orders) and customer information?

If you copied the entire thing that is where most of your problems are coming from.

If you are talking about MySql Database I had never change it, i just create another folder in my site for the new osccommerce release

I need to rebuild the entire mysql Database ?

That is part of the problem then. The new version has configuration options that were not in your version.

Do you have any contributions installed in your old system?

Yes some, some Linda's Contibutions and Fedex module

The UPGRADE Button in OSC install , migrates my old mysql database to the new one format ?

Posted

I believe that the Upgrade button in the install script is only for updating from v2.1 to v2.2.

Ok, Thanks for your Help.

I wish Know if someone in the forum has the SQL procedures for migrate from the old msql database to the new one.........

The easiest thing to do is to use the Admin panel of your new store to set the settings accordingly.

Then in your old database using PHPMyAdmin or SQLyog, export the following tables (data only) using complete inserts but not extended inserts:

address_book

banners

banners_history

categories

categories_description

counter

customers

customers_basket

customers_info

manufacturers

manufacturers_info

orders

orders_products

orders_status_history

orders_total

products

products_attributes

products_attributes_download

products_description

products_notifications

products_options

products_options_values

products_options_values_to_products_options

products_to_categories

reviews

reviews_description

specials

and that should get you setup. ;)
