resizing header_checkout.gif, header_cart.gif, and header_ac

How does one go about resizing the images header_checkout.gif, header_cart.gif, and header_account.gif?

 

They are currently 40x40px.

 

I looked for a place to reset the sizes for these images in the osCommerce admin control panel, but found none.

 

I tried replacing the images with the size I need 30x30px, but the images where resized by the php to 40x40px.

 

This is my first osCommerce site.
