Broadway Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 I was wondering how I could define the location where the text and products usually show up, so that the area is always in a body/table i guess? I'm a total newbie on html/php and think the area Im referring to is "Content" per the layout listed in the wiki project. The reason I want to do this, check my site. http://www.anytimecommunications.com I have a center body area that I need to define as well in the osc. I want to make my osc site fit into the same format as my existing site. Broadway anybody.anywhere.anytime
Guest Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 If what you're wanting is to have the shop in the centre of the page with a binary background image, the center shop contribution can do that. If that's not what you want, perhaps you could explain further?
Broadway Posted June 2, 2003 Author Posted June 2, 2003 Actually its the opposite that I want. I have that binary image but when applied to osc it shows up in the text area so I cant read products or anything. I want to "Close" the area off and let the binary image be in the surrounding areas. My site is 600 total width the left column is 150. The rest goes to cotent. I just want the rest section white. Broadway anybody.anywhere.anytime
Daemonj Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 Please let me know if I am understanding you correctly. You want a table with your binary image. You then want a table within the binary image table that contains your product information. That way your product information is bordered by the binary image but the background for the product information does not show the binary image. Am I correct? Guest Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 Sorry, I guess I wasn't explaining myself clearly. What you describe can be achieved with the center shop mod. What this does is enclose your shop in a table with a border round it. You would then apply your binary image as the border background. You can see it in action at Linda's site http://www.thewebmakerscorner.com/freecall/
Broadway Posted June 2, 2003 Author Posted June 2, 2003 Freerange, Actually on Linda's website I see that the border goes all the way around nice.. What Im concerned with is if you look at mine, I want the border to end at the footer and begin at the header. That way I can capsulate just the body/content/text area, and leave the rest above, around, under, over with the binary image. Im explaining this because on Lindas site I see her footer in the border as well, and my footer is not. Daemon, Dude you lost me like I lost you  I think if you look at http://www.anytimecommunications.com and then http://shop.anytimecommunicationscom you will see what Im saying.. Everything between the BLUE Header/Footer BORDERS needs to be a table. Broadway anybody.anywhere.anytime
Daemonj Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 Everything between the BLUE Header/Footer BORDERS needs to be a table. If that is including the navigation columns, then add a <table> tag at the end of the catalog/includes/header.php file and an </table> tag at the beginning of the catalog/includes/footer.php file. That should do what you want, unless I am still lost. :? "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. Broadway Posted June 2, 2003 Author Posted June 2, 2003 Ok i must be smoking crack! I added the table tag to the bottom of header and top of footer with no avail.. When i changed the body background color to black in the stylesheet, i still receive the same problem. The whole site is black not just confined in between the blue borders and the 600 pixels body width. Am I overlooking something simple?? I know there must be a defining area that lets osc fill that space? Broadway anybody.anywhere.anytime
Daemonj Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 I am sorry buddy, but I just do not have any ideas to help you out. :( "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. Guest Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 If I remember correctly, the center shop code would allow you to set the top & bottom border to 0.
