CrackaJax Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 Hi all, I've been trying to get the UPS shipping module working for me (the one that comes default with the install) and I've been getting this error message: United Parcel Service An error occured with the UPS shipping calculations. error If you prefer to use UPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner. Any clues as to why this is happening? I've set the product weight, I've set the proper ISO 3166 code, etc....now I'm just stumped. Any info at all would be helpful. -- Pradeep K. Guest Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 Have you turned on the module? If you go ito Modules>Shipping, you can click the green button to turn it on. Once you have UPS highlighted, make sure you click Edit and make sure that info is the way you want it. You may have to go to the UPS website if you are unsure what all of the codes for delivery mean. Also, you need to make sure to set a rate and turn that on. Either Flat, Per Item or Table.
CrackaJax Posted May 30, 2003 Author Posted May 30, 2003 yes, the module is turned on. if it wasn't, i probably wouldn't be able to get that error code upon checkout. :D the set a rate thing is something i know nothing about, though. do you mean a tax rate? because i have my tax classes and rates set up just fine...if you want, i could put in more info on how those are set up in case there's something wonky in that dept.? thanks for the quick response, btw! -- Pradeep K. tward Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 I just had this same problem when testing the shop with a Canadian Address. When I changed the shipping address to an American location the error went away.
CrackaJax Posted May 30, 2003 Author Posted May 30, 2003 Wow...that's really weird. Unfortunately, my client is shipping from Canada, so that's not exactly an option. Guess I'll check the contribs for a fix for CDN shippers. Thanks for the info! Cheers! -- Pradeep K. Nair, B.Math deep multimedia pknair(at)deepmultimedia(dot)com
CrackaJax Posted May 30, 2003 Author Posted May 30, 2003 Anyone know if UPS Choice will do the trick? -- Pradeep K. Nair, B.Math deep multimedia pknair(at)deepmultimedia(dot)com
beachboy Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 I am getting this error message also: United Parcel Service An error occured with the UPS shipping calculations. Missing ConsigneeCountry If you prefer to use UPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner. HELP!!
CrackaJax Posted June 1, 2003 Author Posted June 1, 2003 beachboy, in the shipping address, are you filling out the proper country? from what i can see with your error message, the error lies in the fact that the modules can't figure out to which country you're shipping the item. dunno if this helps? -- Pradeep K. Nair, B.Math deep multimedia pknair(at)deepmultimedia(dot)com
beachboy Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 That did it..Actually for some reason I didn't have a shipping address at all for my test buyer..I entered it and the whole transaction went fine..Thanks again
