Search Enhancements - not working as expected

Hi and thanks for the contrib, I have installed correctly as far as i know but it doesn't seem to be working as expected.

 

If i do a search for a single digit, the search count in admin adds up correctly - eg: if i search for the number 9 five times, the count in admin shows this.

 

but if i search for house five times, the count in admin only shows 1.

 

also, just for testing i used 9 in the Replacement word/phrase and replaced with house - but it makes no difference to the search result.

 

any tips? could it be that i am using loaded crv5?

I also am not getting expected results. A search phrase common on my site is lavender flowers. If I search for this phrase in lower case no results are given. If I capitalize (like Lavender Flowers) or strip the s (like lavender flower) I get the expected results. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

There is a session variable created to prevent recounting the same search terms from the same person, so this behaviour is normal.

 

If you shut down your browser window to end the session and then open a new browser window and search on the same search term it will be counted again.

Any idea to search plural terms in other languages (like italian) than English? :roll:

It works fine for me.... I would say to check that you have installed the mod properly.

thanks, rechecked, don't know how i missed it but no changes were made to my advanced search result page....

now that i have made the changes it works a treat!

Great mod, I can't wait to get it working! Unfortunately I have a problem too.

 

I have installed the mod correctly as far as I can tell from the instructions, (checked it three times) but it still does not work - I cannot find "drill" when searching for "drills", and I do not have an enhanced search results page.

 

I have gone through and replaced $_GET with $HTTP_GET_VARS, but that was no help.

 

Can anyone make any suggestions?

OK, I note that I get the custom search page if there are truly NO results found.

 

And, I note that the function to suggest alternate words is working correctly.

 

What is NOT working is the function to remove the trailing 's' from the search string. I have triple-checked the code and it is exactly like that found in the instructions. I downloaded v1.1a, is this a bad revision?
