Guest Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 Hi, does anyone know why i have had 70+ referrals from these google IP addresses? 216.239.37.104 216.239.33.100 On my web stats its not recognising them as a search engine which is weird. Also, the IP below comes up as Google Labs, "Google's technology playground" apparently! I had 19 referrals from this one in one day. 216.239.33.136 Does anyone know whats going on?!? :?
wizardsandwars Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 Trust me, it's a good thing. So long as the urls that it visited does't have sid in it, you'll be fine. This is google's parser. It is going through each of the URLs that the googlebot url gatherer found, and parseing each page for content. Actually, I've been looking for this bot for some time now. It's about 3 weeks overdue. Can you tell us what part ofthe worl you are in, and when was this bots last visit? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. Guest Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 i'm in the UK, the first two URLs came in the last week, the Google Labs one came on the 22nd of may... so why have i had 19 refferals from Google Labs?
wizardsandwars Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 The 216.239. numbers are all Google's parser. It is reading your website. This means that you can expect to find new listings in the upcomming Google index. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.
