Installing in Sub-Domain

Hello all,

 

I am trying to install OSC into a domain pointing to a sub-domain on my main account. The main account has nothing to do with my subdomain, so I don't want the main url to appear in the browser. Is there an easy way to do this? Am I simply overlooking something?

 

Where do I set all of this stuff up? What I did was copy my whole shop from the main domain to the sub-domain. Is this my problem? Should I do a fresh install?

 

I did not do the install myself, my host provided the install automatically, so this may be taken care of in the install.php....

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can use your osCommerce store in the subdomain.

No, you cannot hide your main domain... hence the term, SUBdomain.

 

Are you serious about running a business?

For the sake of hosting another domain name... you solve your problem. Another bonus is that search engines pick up better rankings if the searched item is part of your domain name. ie. chevyparts.com would be one of the first few sites listed if you did a search for "parts for my chevy".
