ok, i have installed everything, and it all works 100% BUT

i am a noob to php and all this, and have no idea how to edit the colours, layout, banners, or to even put my company logo on the site...

if there is a howto on this, can someone send me a link, otherwise get in contact with me about how to do this, also i downloaded "cool menu" installed that, and it doesnt work, i dont know what i did wrong, i followed ALL the steps to the letter. to no avail

please help.... :cry:

First off, if you are new to php, I would just get my store going and get a good feel for all the functions before applying any contributions.

 

You have to be careful with contributions and know what's really going on. As an example, if you are using a snapshot from say 4/30/2003 and you apply a contribution from, say, December 2002, it may not exactly match what you have. This can be especially true if the contribution contains files that you are to totally replace. I always check the dates of the files to be replaced and see if we start with the same version. If not, then you have to investigate and possibly retrofit the code to your version of the program, as opposed to overlaying it whole.

 

For customizing colors, columns etc (which is an excellent way to start learing customization of osCommerce), look at the following documents:
