Guest Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 Kinda weird question this! Can anyone send me the install directory for a recent snapshot? I dont want to download the whole OS file just for one small directory. Email me if you have it and we can arrange for it to be sent, so I dont get hundreds emailed to me. :D I need to test something im trying and need that directory as i dont have it at present DOH!! Thanks in anticipation!
rseigel Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 Why not just grab what you need from the CVS? http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/tep
wendys Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 I'm a newbie. Just installed ms2.2 version. Then when I needed to use some contribution, they're most based on very recent cvs. Now I want to update from m.s2.2 to the latest cvs version. Should I just download the latest cvs file from oscommerce website? Do I needed a CVS client software? Do I need to delete the original catalog directory and FTP the whole CVS file? If so, what about the configuration I set with the original ms2.2 version? Do I need to do it again? Thanks. Wendy
wendys Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 I have this problem sorted now thanx :) Can you share please? Thanks, Wendy
Guest Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 Wendy, Sorry someone just emailed the files and I used them!! As regards your questions, i cant answer about the CVS as I dont use it at present. I have asked a similar question about using myself but no one answered. What I do know is that the cvs logs changes made to the code, and so most of the changes that have been made are not major, and would require you just to make the changes in code, not reinstall everything. If you are using milestone 1 i think 99% of the contribs should work with it fine, as most are based on that and not the latest snapshot. Some will require you to make changes to the database and code. So just go ahead and try it, remember to make a backup first though!! If you need any help I can take a quick look for you just pm me!
