Google and Picture names?

Does it do any good to name your pictures like this

manufacturersname_model_color.jpg ?

 

Will this help with search engine placement or is it more work than is necessary.

 

I am working on setting up the Header Tag controller now but it is taking a bit of experimenting to find out what is best to put and where to put it.
