Zone Based Shipping module based on UK Counties

Hi

I need a zone based shipping module based on UK counties. Basically my shop will only be selling to a UK base and this can be split into 4 zones. I have tried deleting all the country codes and replacing them with county codes but this has created other issues whereby if you change your address it does not appear to remember the new county, also, when going through checkout I have 2 other shipping methods available and if I enable the zone based shipping the other 2 modules lose their radio buttons.

Is this the right way to proceed by eliminating the country codes and substituting for county codes?

Bit stuck on this one so any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Rich

OK

I think I have found a contribution I can use, the Per Item Per State variety. I'll give that one a tinkle. :D

thanks

Hi

Right, here is the problem. When you sign up for a new account I want a drop down list of STATES to match the single country I have selected. I have loaded all my counties (STATES) into the zones table and only have one country (UK) in the countries table but now need the pull-down of STATES(counties)

Anyone know how to achieve this?

thanks

Rich

You probably already have it figured, but the states drop-down appears only *after* you have submitted your details with the country (i.e. UK) selected. It would make sense if OSC realised there was only one country and provided the states/counties drop-down in the first screen. Perhaps that can be submitted as a feature request.

There is a contribution around that includes the UK counties in an SQL script (I have used it). Those counties can then be linked to tax zones, which in turn can be used as postage zones in the zone-based shipping module.

Hi

Right first question, having spent a bit of time setting up a 4 zone table, where is the data so I can back it up?

Secondly, it only wants to select and choose from zone 1 and not the 3 other zones, is there something obvious to check first?

thanks

Rich
