EmpressChang Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Since I went through some difficulty in setting up the SSL for my store, I thought I would share the solution in hopes that someone may not have to go through all the hum bug I went through. The best thing to do is to install the shared SSL before you install osCommerce or begin to customize the cart. Otherwise... Once you have installed the secure cert or shared cert you need to go back into your osCommerce in your hosting control panel and hit the edit button. This operation restores corrupted osCommerce templates and updates osCommerce config files to use current hosting settings such as the SSL cert. All your custom settings will be preserved, but the only downfall is that all your customization to the templates and php files is wiped out so make sure to do a backup on your hard drive before you do the edit function! Then, after you hit the "Edit" link then go to the actual cart the payment and registration pages are now secured. Hope this of help to someone!
