jackof Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Hello there, First off, lemme thank everybody who helped me get a very good ranking for one of my website in Google. I, along with many others out there, think that google is mother of all search engines. I must say that every lit bit information, provided on this forum, really helped me. It's only been a month and a half since the launch of my website and my website is ranked at 7th postion (Total 6 lack results) for my top most keyword relavant to my website. For my secong relavant keyword, i'm ranked at 2nd (5 lack results) position :). I utilized my SEO skills and information provided by other users of OScommerce to achieve this thing. Could you share the site URL and keywords as a case study? Also, you might consider writing an overview of what you did to achieve this, and post it in the tips and tricks section. jackof Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 Hello everybody, Well, i did nothing remarkable which affected my ranking nor i tried any method which can fooled google. You really need to work on your website Title tag. Frequent (not over do it) use of relavant keywords in the page helps. First off, u need to work the keywords relavant to your site. Find that. WordTracker.com is a good option. I've written a small description about my site with use of imp. keywords in it. You can place that in the top-center of the page. I've installed the following mods which really helped me and probably its a must for a good ranking. 1) Stuart Owens's mod to kill spider sessions. It's located here -> http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...6708&highlight= (Read the full thread) 2) Linda's Header tags controller with Admin The above 2 mods are very much neccessary for your site to have good ranking in SE's.
