alan-oscommerce
Hi, I have been asked to provide an on-line catalogue for an Irish charity organisation, I need to decide on a secure payment method but I am nervous about making a mistake with the pricing estimation for the Charity. I have done a lot reading about the SSL requirements etc.. and have come up with the following possibilities. A. Purchase no Certificate and redirect to thwate for the processing of the order ($180 setup + $240 p/a recurring) B. Purchase a security certiificate from GeoTrust and use authorize.net or euroconex.com to process my credit card transactions. ($200 for cert and varying fees per tx) The site is hosted on a shared server which does not have a shared SSL area for general use. My worries are: 1. If I go the thwate route, will this mean I will have to do a lot of tweaking with osCommerce (PHP skills are good)? 2. If I go the GeoTrust route will there be issues installing the cert on a shared hosting platform? 3. Again, if I go the GeoTrust route, will there be any issues with this site being hosted in Ireland? 4. Am I missing or overlooking any serious issues here that could send me back to the drawing board after making purchases? Any help / suggestions / abuse for incompetence / etc.... is greatly appreciated. Regards, Alan
Guest
Take a look at http://www.instantssl.com/ pricing is very competitive. alan-oscommerce
Hi Thomas, I saw that site reviewed on http://www.whichssl.org. They said that these certs are fine for commeical applications but I am worried a little about the 2 cert install and the fact that some browsers will have issues with these? Have you any experience with these? Thanks, Alan

Daemonj
The 2 cert install is very common and easy to do. I have InstantSSL certs for all of my sites and do not have a problem at all.
