Problems writing to directory

Hello

 

Everytime i try to use the file manager and try to edit or upload files, i get this error:

 

Error: I can not write to this directory. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/e-life/public_html/cart

 

Can anyone please tell me how to set the right user permissions?

Chances are you're not able to upload with the filemanager..

unless you chmod +w (set write permissions) on the complete cart directory which you DO NOT want to do (security)

 

Check with your hosting account, I bet Apache (webserver) runs as another user than the one that owns the directories.
