Aido Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Hi all, Does anyone out there know if OSC is suitable to use on a site that sells digital media (eg. ebook, documents, reports). Obviously it can sell them but the question is can it handle a successful payment and give the customer a link to download thier product? As an aside, I was considering using PAYPAL as a payment option and wondered if the IPN script would handle this? Any ideas? Thanks guys.
wizardsandwars Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Yes, I know several guys that do this very thing. In fact, here's an example, www.planet-earl.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
Aido Posted May 20, 2003 Author Posted May 20, 2003 Thanks Chris for getting back so quick (I'd only posted and got a mail to say a reply was in). This looks like what I want to be able to do, do you know if this is done with PAYPAL's IPN script? I need to be able to send a download link to a customer after a successful payment. Thanks again.
wizardsandwars Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Yes, I believe it is. When they finishe their transaction at paypal, they are redirected back to the checkout success' page, which has links to all of thier downloads. The email the customer gets has a link to return to the checkout success page (after logging in). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. Aido Posted May 20, 2003 Author Posted May 20, 2003 Cheers Chris, I'll check out the IPN script and see if that does the trick. Aido.
