usernames instead of Email Adresses ?!

Hello,

 

has anbody changed osc to use usernames instead of Email Adresses for login ?

 

Why does osc use Email-Adresses, whats the purpose?

I have already combinded osc and phpbb, but for this way it would be better to have usernames in osc.

 

Can anybody give me some tips please, what have to be changed and how many work it would be ?
