Guest Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 I have completed my site (I hope) and am now ready for your critique. You can see it here http://www.thevinyladvantage.com I still have to add some payment and shipping modules, but for what we offer, that is a work in progess. Thanks
Guest Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Ok I have found a couple things. Text positioning with netscape and mozilla using css isn't working right now. If anybody has any suggestions to fixing this, please help. :? Other than that, I am not sure what else to do until I get a little feedback. :D
zlack Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 nice done! however i would make the buttons in your menu on the left a little bigger. i hate it when i have to move more to my screen to read something :) best regards, zlack It's easier to remember, then to forget
Guest Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Thank you. Out of curiosity, what is your screen size? I thought they were small on my screen as well, but my resolution is 1280 x 1024, so alot of things tend to look smaller here. Thanks
mattice Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 It's nicely done! The only thing I do not like is the font you use on the main page(s), I'd change that to something like Verdana / Tahoma... but that is just a matter of taste I guess. burt Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Give your fonts a style and make them slightly larger, as they are a little small for me to be able to read easily. Also the buttons in the category nav bar could do with being made larger. Overall, nice work.
zlack Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 one more thing: on your default.php change Cutom Made -> Custom Made ;) It's easier to remember, then to forget
Guest Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 Good eye zlack, thanks for catching that. I guess thats why you should type it out in a program with spell check, and then copy and paste it when everything is O.K. I will change the button size when I get home from work. Thanks for the comments and suggestions everybody! :D
Guest Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 Ok, All of the opinions have been implemented in one way or another. I cleaned up the fonts, made bigger buttons on the left, and edited spelling. So whats your opinion now? Are those buttons too big??? Maybe its just me. I looked at them for so long when they were smaller, they look alot different to me now. What's your guys' opinion now? Please don't hold back...if something looks funny or out of place, please tell me. Thanks!
Guest Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 Really nice work. Very clean. I think the button sizes work well.
Guyver Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 Yep, nice clean cut, not clutter :)... Not 100% sure about having a google search though!? Thanks John
Guest Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 I might turn it into a site search, my thought against it though was a search engine on my site with only 70 products didn't seem like it was necessary. With only 4 categories, its pretty easy to find what you want. But our product line will grow as we design more boxes. The multi-level boxes will add quite a few boxes when all of our designs are finished. Thanks for the suggestions and opinions!
gillweb Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 very nice look! One thing that caught my eye is the background color....you don't have the background color to "white" or "#FFFFFF"...so if someone, like me, has thier default background in the browser set to something other than white it's looks bad. I have mine set to GREY just for this reason, so I don't forget to set the background color!.... You'd be surprised how many websites don't set thier background color! <? Hello There! ?>
Guest Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 WOW!!! Thats all I can say. I guess I shouldn't assume that everyone has white backgrounds though, it never even crossed my mind to be honest. Thank you for catching that. As for my shipping and returns, you can see by my product line that it can be costly to ship, so I am working with several shipping companies right now to determine the best rates for the customer. After that has been determined, then I will be able to include my shipping and return info. I will edit it a little, so in the meantime, people locally can click that and see that shipping is free, and at the same time let others know it is a work in progress. Thanks for the feedback! :D
