hankfrid Posted May 18, 2003 Posted May 18, 2003 I was getting ready to install the latest version of this contribution, because it was listed as being tested against a Feb2003 snapshot and would work fine. But when I start looking at the admin/categories.php file in the contribution, it has a date from 2002/06/09 and the current snapshots have that file dated 2003/03/24. This file has had numerous bug fixes applied to it since June 2002. And the contribution says to just overlay this file? I would lose the fixes that people have worked so hard on. I'm getting more comfortable with going out to the CVS and finding out what was changed in a module for bug fixes etc. I even ran a diff there jumping from the two versions mentioned above. The problem is, I don't know how to run a diff between a version that is out on CVS and one I just have on my hard drive. I figure if I do a diff comparison between the CVS of 2002/06/09 and the contribution version of the same file, I can pick out the code that is pretty much JUST for the contribution and then figure out how to retrofit THAT into my 2003/5/14 snapshot version. I just don't want to trash my shop when I'm so close to production. And if you test it against a Feb 2003 snapshot, why wouldn't you put THAT version into the contribution??? Any help is appreciated.
