Guest Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Hello, I can send email to all the local email address, like [email protected]. But It failed to send other email accounts, for example: [email protected]. Anyone has this experience ? Any help or advise will be appreciated. Tony
orchard Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Some hosting companies require you to check your POP box before sending mail outside their network to help prevent SPAM. Also, some mail systems reject mail from unknown servers, also to prevent SPAM. In olden times the men were made of iron and the ships were made of wood; now it's the other way around.
Guest Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 But I can send out emails using my host server's SMTP on Outlook express. And I also can send out emails on their webmail server.
orchard Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 It could be a different problem, but Outlook Express checks mail before sending so it satisfies the requirement. You could try checking mail with Outlook Express just before trying to send mail using osCommerce. In olden times the men were made of iron and the ships were made of wood; now it's the other way around.
Guest Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 All the email address I sent out were correct. The problem was that oscommerce(or maybe the host server) failed to deliever the emails to the email accounts except that the email accounts are local-host emails. For example, I can never send a email to your by oscommer. I don't think my host server can make any restrictions for the outgoing email accounts. I found a place on admin to change the email options, but neither sendmail or smtp options work. I am going to set up oscommer on other host server to see if it will work or not.
