Ok,

I almost have everything working on the the new server my site migrated to the it is a plesk server with 2 folders httpdocs for nonssl and httpsdocs for ssl my hosting company has redirected https to http folder the catalog works fine i can switch between ssl and non ssl no prob.

My issue is with setting up the shop admin as a protect directory

i setup the direct as protected in the server admin then you have the option of ssl or nonssl if i select nonssl (httpdocs) where the directory actually is if i bring up the admin in nonssl it works fine if i bring up the admin in ssl it doesn`t ask for password it just goes right to the index for the shop admin.

if i change the setting in the server admin to non-ssl (httpsdocs) remember this is being redirected so this directory really doesn`t have anything in it , i get an apache error forbidden

I think the issue is with redirecting to httpdocs from httpsdocs

has anyone setup a protected directory with out having 2 copies of all the files in httpdocs / httpsdocs

i got everything but the protected directory working

it is a plesk server

I really would like to know what the redirect looks like so I won't have to have everything in the HTPPS folder as in HTTP folder. Any hints?

my hosting company setup a redirect in the vhost.conf file i believe to get this to work

they have to then use a server side .htaccess file (the plesk protected diectory wont work) for your admin directory
