skeedo Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 Shipping for a 1lb. package is $6.17 when it should be $4.82. For Shipping/ Packaging I have: Country Code us Postal Code 43551 Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship 25 Package Tare weight. 3 Larger packages - percentage increase. 10 Handling Fee 0 For UPS Shipping Module I have: Enable UPS Shipping True UPS Pickup Method CC UPS Packaging? CP Residential Delivery? RES Handling Fee 0 Tax Class --none-- Shipping Zone --none-- Sort order of display. 1 Shipping Methods 1DA, 2DA, 3DS, GND, STD Why is it so much?
zzfritz Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 The rate is affected by the choice of pickup method, with RDP being the lowest and CC being higher. It should be mentioned (for the umpteenth time) that the osC shipping module for UPS and the UPS Choice contribution employ an obsolete and deprecated online interface, hence it is quite possible that the currently correct rates are not being obtained by them. Neither the standard osC module, nor the UPS Contribution which extends it, affects the rate for shipping. They merely report what comes back from UPS when a rate quote is requested.

Is this planning on being updated? D.
zzfritz Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 The esteemed and valued osC development team has not made any public pronouncement that a new UPS shipping module is planned. I have threatened to implement it during the past six months, but have not been able to devote the time necessary. Here, once again, is UPS' official notice about the obsolete API: http://www.ec.ups.com/ecommerce/techdocs/u...tes_070600.html
skeedo Posted May 15, 2003 Author Posted May 15, 2003 Ok I switched it to RDP and it is lower...thats not gonna cause me any problems is it? Thanks.
Guest Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 You can also change your "Package Tare Weight" to zero and that should fice your UPS rate problem.
