giuliastro Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 Is it possible to import Microsoft Access' data into osCommerce? I read the FAQ but I don't want to connect Access to MySQL simply import an Access database into osCommerce. Thanks in advance.
Guest Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 When you install Osc it creates about 50 tables in sql. That's where it gets its data from. You can't just upload your access db into osc (wish that were possible!). The hard way is to download all the osc tables from mySQL to your local comp, import them into access, work on it in access then use the sql driver to upload them again. But if you add new fields in the process you also have to tweak the php code. Check out the easypopulate contribution as an alternative: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,500

Millie Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 I maintain an Access database of products and use Easy Populate to load them into osCommerce. Most of the work setting this up was in creating the query to extract and format the data properly. Other features of my database are not integrated. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,500 Millie
