To questions

I?m completely new on this field but real interested in getting a web-shop using this fine product.

During installation I was looking for help http://wiki.oscommerce.com/ an I got to point where:

1.Question:

"Set the permissions on:

/catalog/includes/configure.php

/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php to 706 or 777"

Where and how do I do this? Any special program I need to use?

2. Question:

I?ve tried to run the intallationsprogram, and got as fare as:

?Please enter your web server information: Webserver Root Directory :: /home/username/public_html?

How does I exactly type this?

When I open FTP I se tre folders, where I think the documentfolders are /www.myplace.dk, where I also placed the folders catalog and admin?

I can run the installationsprogram from this address: http://www.myplace.dk/catalog/install

The firm who runs my serverplace is: www.danmarks.nu on a Linux-server with a Sql-database.

Hope someone can help me. And please let me now if this mix of English and Danish are unreadable.

Best regards

Torben

Your English is just fine!

The address for your installation looks good..... use your FTP program to change file/folder permissions.... you should be able to just right clck the file/folder to do so.....

On a first time install, try just leaving the document root as it appears in the install script.... it should work ok on Apache... if not you should have information from your host as to what your document root is... phpinfo will show it also.... your server must have PHP installed
