adding information to the order confirmation email

Can anyone at least point me in the right direction here? I need to add the product description to the order confirmation emails. I've looked at the files, specifically checkout_process.php, but I'm still struggling with OSC's php/mysql way of doing things. Any help would realllllly be appreciated. :oops:
