igloo Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Hello I am creating new categories and sub-categories with new products I have created corresponding folders in images dir where should reside the new pictures per new category by default when uploading the images they are sent to images folder root how can I directly upload my img as the demo shows for example in images sub dir DVD so far I found a way around which is a real pain time wise! I manually FTP the img in for ex: VHS (new created sub dir in images) then I let the admin loading new product script doing its job in uploading the img in images root dir then go back, edit and change the path ...never ending proposition any suggestion? regards Henry
Guest Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 I've created a new folder category inside images but the path can only be seen as far as the images folder, not the new category. e.g. I created a new folder called formac inside images so that I could store my Formac monitor images here, and I put this location in the path but, osCommerce will only recognise images placed in the image folder, not inside a sub folder?????
Druide Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 another one with an image as signature :( I believe that the rules do not allow this otherwise its my mistake :? Robert We all need to learn it once, how hard it may seem when you look at it, also you will master it someday ;)
igloo Posted May 14, 2003 Author Posted May 14, 2003 HEllo Scott I just found the answer here http://wiki.oscommerce.com/helpHowtoUploadImages BTW was it a signature? or a demo of your above assertions :) cheers
Guest Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 Hi Henry, I've already seen that page. Did it work for you? I tried swapping the last forward slash for a back slash, with no luck. The signature? I think Druide should get a life, but if it is really upsetting him, I shall of course remove it.
igloo Posted May 15, 2003 Author Posted May 15, 2003 HEllo Scott yes it worked for me very well and at first trial if not give a try to my technique which is not elegant and takes time BTW are you sure that you config points to the right img folders from root and that you have the right permissions etc... did you try to load any img by letting the img being loaded to root and not to a specific folder, just to be sure that it works at root level cheers
Guest Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 I was treating osCommerce like a CGI project, once I had uploaded everything I put the original files to one side. What I finally realised was that I should treat all of the files like an actual website and upload from the images folder using the Admin panel.
Veronica Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Problem Warning: Unable to create '/home/usser/public_html/catalog/images/Carretes/carrete.gif': No such file or directory in /home/usser/public_html/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 799 Warning: Unable to move '/tmp/php8inLAp' to '/home/usser/public_html/catalog/images/Carretes/carrete.gif' in /home/usser/public_html/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 799 Somebody can help me? Thanks
igloo Posted May 24, 2003 Author Posted May 24, 2003 Veronica did you create the same folder "carretes" in your primary machine and on the server, plus avoid capital letters such as "C" with Carretes also don't/ forget the correct code is catalog/images/carretescarrete.gif' and not catalog/images/carretes/carrete.gif' if you have another sub-folder then it will be catalog/images/sub_foldercarretescarrete.gif' also are your permissions ok? if you run Apache and PHP did you check the error log cheers
