Converting Shop Using SunShop (turnkeywebtools) to Os Commer

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to convert my existing shop in which I use the SunShop 3.1 cart by Turnkeywebtools over to the OS Commerce cart.

I have over 500 products and 500 customers to convert (import) over.

I need to make the conversion as seemless as possible for my customers.

I need for my customers to be able to use their current login info and passwords to log into the new shop.

Does anyone know what all I will need to do to convert to OS Commerce?

My website is www.MagicProShop.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

It depends on how your current Database is configured. Do you have your store connected to a MySQL database?

The current store does not necessarily have to use MySQL. So long as the data can be placed into a text file that can be imported into MySQL everything will be okay.

You main catch part will be the passwords. If the passwords in your current shop are encrypted (as they should be), then you will not be able to transfer them over. Unless you wish to assign all of your customers a new, temporary password then you would not want to carry over any of their information. You just do not want your customer's data sitting out there with no password.

Is there a forum or job board that I can post an RFP to? I need to find someone to do this (convert SunShop to OScommerce) too.

If you can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!

Were you ever successful at this? Did you do it yourself or have someone help you? I'm in the same boat. :'(
