gpdesigner Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 I am trying to upload a file to catalog/includes/english, but keep getting change mode errors... do I need to change mode to all of the folders in all of the folders in all of the folder or is there just on folder to change mode to... and if so which one is it thanks
rseigel Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Why not just use a regular old FTP program instead of the file manager (I'm assuming that's what you're trying to use)? You won't have those problems that way. :wink:
orchard Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Ralph, you are probably having who owns the file problems, because files uploaded using FTP are owned by you and files uploaded through the admin belong to the web server, in my case "nobody". In olden times the men were made of iron and the ships were made of wood; now it's the other way around. :wink:
gpdesigner Posted May 13, 2003 Author Posted May 13, 2003 Hey folks thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. I was using Anarchy to set permission and DW to upload. I am going to give the instructions a good read today but, I may just tank the hole project, and figure out another option. My plate is really full no time to deconstruct php just yet. I have a 2 point poly problem happening on a display which needs serious attention. but thank you so so much for the replies. Peace
