fan4chevy Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 I am noticing that I only have 2 options for product images. One is small image size and the other is large image size. However, this is too limited as I am noticing that not all images can fit properly with only one standard size as it distorts the images. Is there a way to do image size per item or are there other options? THanks very much, Charles
Guest Posted May 12, 2003 Posted May 12, 2003 If you delete the image size in admin the image will open at its actual size. Also you could add white space to your image in any image editor to pack it out to the right size.
fan4chevy Posted May 13, 2003 Author Posted May 13, 2003 That is good that I can delete the image size. However, the only problem is that it does not allow me to have a small image for the listings and a large image for the click to enlarge. Do you know of a solution for this as well as a mod for image per item size? Thanks again, Charles
Guest Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 If you look in the contributions section, there are a couple that allow you to enter small, med & large pics. This will help load times as well as give you the flexibility you need. There's also a contribution that allows multiple different images per product.
Guest Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 :) This frustrated me when I first ran into the same problem. I did not want to have to redo all my images. Then I remembered some basic HTML If you only set one attribute on the size, the browser will figure out the other. The only negative side is the page loads a little slower beause the brower must calculate the size. Here is the workaround that I found. Go to configuration -> images Simple set the image width to 100 (or what ever width you desire) and set the height to NULL (just leave it blank) It will maintain the ration of height to width and automatically ajust the height. You can visit my site jazjewelry.com to see how it displays the different heights with the width set at 100. Good Luck!
fan4chevy Posted May 13, 2003 Author Posted May 13, 2003 Thanks guys, I am really pleased by the support I have received from my fellow shopcart friends here at oscommerce. Just a month ago I was about to throw my arms up and go to lesser carts like commerce.cgi etc. I just could not figure out a simple thing like adding a shipping price per item. Thanks to contributions and all your help I am moving right along with what I feel is a professional cart. Leaving the one image size blank works like a charm. Man if it was not for this a few of my items would look distorted and not professional. Thanks, Charles
