Show categories and subcategories

The contribution by athyholdt works great, but, I would like to show all the products in the sub categories, in the main categoire, and the user can whittle them down using the left navigation.

For me, there is nothing in my main categoiries. Example:

 

Fan Shop (Nothing here)

MLB

NFL

Nascar

NHL

NBA

 

So I want all the leagues products to show in fan shop.

Anyone know how to achieve this.

i tried it on 2.3.3, its working fine except for the manufacturer filter.

 

just edit index.php and category_listing.php - 2 files
