How to add alt-tag to an image?

I am using Mattice's edit main page mod. Out there I have implemented a custom home page doing a cut paste from code put together using DWMX. But the problem is, alt tags placed using DWMX are not showing up on the final output.

Ouch! .. I was saving the file in DWMX as .htm while I should have used .html as my extension to a particular file connecting this issue.
