Multiple categories.php being hit?

Hi all!

I am still having this problem. I thought this was a caching issue but it doesn't seem to be. I have seen it occur on my home PC and another one as well.

I'm stuck.

This is driving me nuts!

Let me clarify that this happens on IE5.5 and 6.0. I don't seem to have this problem in Netscape.

Here is what I get when you first go to the site. This is correct.

menu1.jpg

I click on "Gardening and get the following:

menu2.jpg

I click on "Bar & Entertaining" and get:

menu3.jpg

Several of the links after "Children" give me:

menu4.jpg

And "Other Holidays" gives me:

menu5.jpg

I did used * for the root categories for about 2 minutes but promptly removed it. It isn't ANYWHERE in my code anymore and hasn't been for several days.

The page is SUPPOSED to look like this (form Netscape):

menu6.jpg

Here is the snippet of Code I changed in categories.php:

// Bolds root categories only

   if ($foo[$counter]['parent'] == 0) {

     $categories_string .= '<b>';

   }

// display category name

   $categories_string .= $foo[$counter]['name'];

   if ($foo[$counter]['parent'] == 0) {

     $categories_string .= '</b>';

   } else {

  $categories_string .= '  ';

}

   $categories_string .= '</a>';

::bangs head on table...::

Aha!!!

I was right. It WAS a cache issue. I changed the code in column_left.php to:

  if ( (USE_CACHE == 'true') && !SID) {

include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'categories.php');

   // echo tep_cache_categories_box();

 } else {

   include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'categories.php');

 }

and I no longer get the problem.
