Guest Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 Hi everybody, Just before I start the task of implementing osCommerce on a clinet's site, I'd like to know if there is a limit of the number of products that can be included? Or if not, what is the highest anyone has included so far? T here could literally be up to a million products here - though a lot of those would be 'options' rather than products themselves. But there could quite feasibly be up to 0.5m products... is this theoretically viable? Thanks, David
burt Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 I'm upto 1.65 Million products now. But it's a dual processor machine, oodles of Ram, not connected to the Internet...it's used by a client of mine for trade shows and fairs. So yes, theoretically it's possible, but in practice you need a very powerful dedicated box, and shared hosting is a defainte no-no. hth
Guest Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 Thanks for the heads-up. So I guess it's a matter of 'any amount of products so long as the system can cope' - I'll get on to my sysadm :) Thanks, David
