fan4chevy Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 Thanks for all your help I want to be able to charge tax if someone purchases a product in my home state, Idaho. I setup the tax info in admin but it is not appearing on the checkout for the item that I have setup for taxable item. Any idea on how to resolve this issue. Charles
hankfrid Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 Did you set up all three areas within your Admin area? You have to set up the Tax Zone, Tax Classes and Tax Rates. Then make sure your products, of course, are in the "Taxable" class. HankFrid If I build it...they will come. If I don't try to build it.....I will never know!
fan4chevy Posted May 10, 2003 Author Posted May 10, 2003 In Admin I went to 1.) Locations/Taxes 2.) Tax Zones = Idaho 3.) Tax Classes = Taxable Goods 4.) Tax Rates = a) Tax Class Title = Taxable Goods B) Zone = Idaho c) Tax Rate = 6.00 d) Description = Idaho Tax 6.0% e) Priority = 1 That is how I have it all setup not to mention that each product has selected taxable goods when input. However, everytime I select the product in the actual cart it never displays taxes still. I want those that live in Idaho only to pay tax. Any more help is appreciated.
Guest Posted May 11, 2003 Posted May 11, 2003 go one step further: 2.) Tax Zones = Idaho >ID Click on the Folder in tax Zones and Choose Idaho there as well
fan4chevy Posted May 11, 2003 Author Posted May 11, 2003 Thanks guys I now have it working. It is nice that everyone helps each other out.

hankfrid Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 When you add your actual products to the catalog, there is a field called "Class" down towards the bottom. It is like the second-last field, right before weight. Just make sure that all your products that are taxable are put in the "Taxable" Class. HankFrid If I build it...they will come. If I don't try to build it.....I will never know!
