hi

i just install the store and i have few questions..

were do i create my admin username and stuff...since if there is no username, just about anybody could type in http://localhost/store/admin, and access the admin pannel

i have looked throught the settings, but didnt find anything of use

and one more, default.php is the main page...and everything else is like an addon..right?

i mean like is all the main layouts in default.php or there all over the place?

..to be mnore clear, which file contains all of the layout stuff...like side pannels, and header and footers.

thanks

#1 - OSC Documentation - Read it, learn it, love it, use it: http://wiki.oscommerce.com

#2 - Securing up your installation using .htaccess (if your server uses it) - http://javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess3.shtml

#3 - Default.php is the main page. To edit any pages text, you'll want to check out:

/catalog/includes/languages/english.php

/catalog/includes/languages/<<Language>>/*.*

Read more about it in the wiki guide

#4 - Headers, footers, left/right columns are located in /catalog/includes

#5 - See #1 again.

Good luck, welcome to osc ;)

.htaccess is something your server is either capable of or not - There is no need to send the file with OSC. If you have a hosting control panel, such as cpanel, ensim, plesk, you may be able to lock the directorie(s) from there, and not even worry about .htaccess

cause windows dont let me create the .htpasswd files, or any files that start with a . in the front :-/

Each of those cost hundreds of dollars, some at least a thousand, and are designed for linux.
