Spaces in URLs

Recommended Posts

I just ran a log analyzer on my site and noticed that quite a lot of visits end up with "page not found". I am trying to figure out why and I noticed that many url's accessed have a "space" in it which browsers don't like.

I have tried to find where this space comes from but no luck.

The urls look like this for an example "http://mydomain/ product_info.php"

Has anyone else experienced this??

That was my first guess - and my first check.

Then I realised that if that would have been the problem - every request would end up as "page not found". But my store is working and I have not had this problem myself (VERY strange!!)

It is just that when I look at the logs I can see that people are trying to open these incorrect urls (maybe it is the analyzer that is buggy?)

What's the URL to your site? What's the referer URL for these people that are trying to get to the pages with an added space?

That'll probably give the answer.
