Installing version 2.2MS1

Hi all

I just installed Ver. 2.2MSI. Installing just went perfect no errors or anything. But after Install I went to the admin interface and there the first errors showed up:

Warning: main(includes/languages/english/) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /home/shoresid/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 193

Warning: main() [function.main]: Failed opening 'includes/languages/english/' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/shoresid/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 193

Any Idea?

Unfortunately thats not all of it:

Several Links in the Admin interface don't work since they look like this:

http://www.mysite.com/catalog/admin///*A...d_box=customers

In the catalog:

I have another link problem. for example if i make a choice from manufacturer's list i get:

Error!

Unable to determine the page link!

I really don't know anymore what to do. I followed the instructions on:

http://wiki.oscommerce.com/helpInstallNew

The Site is running on a server using "redhat"

The link to the catalog is:

http://www.shoreside.ch/catalog

Thanks for any support,

Heinz

Hi there,

thanks for your quick response,

the images were not displying because i hadn't uploaded them since i don't need the sample pics. I now did to check if it is a path problem, but they are displaying just fine.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Heinz

Well I know that the main() points to an include() to load the language settings, unfortunately it does neither work with english, german nor spanish. Its always the same error. although the dynamicly generated path would be correct.

Does Anyone have anymore tips? (pointing at myself: :stupid: )

I uploaded some screenshots of my admin area:

http://www.shoreside.ch/error/

Maybe someone discovers somthing that might be the problem.

Thanks

Well.....I would say that having the HTTPS turned to false but having a link to an https address could be part of the problem. I would suggest changing

 define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.shoreside.ch');

to this:

 define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.shoreside.ch');

In BOTH the catalog and admin /includes/configure.php and see if that doesn't help.

I had a problem similiar to that with the admin links for i can see in the screenshot!

But my links were working, they just didn't display right!.

What i did was edit admin/includes/language/english.php ( in my case it was portuguese, but the file format is the same.

In my case the file was missing something like this:

define('BOX_TOOLS_BACKUP', 'Database Backup');

i just used the error in the admin link and made a line just like the others for the ones that were missing, and it worked.

Hope it helps.

I checked your other screenshots ( only saw the firts in the previous post :) )and i'm having a problem like yours but when checking out

Warning: main(includes/languages/portugues/checkout_shipping.php) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /home/inaudi/public_html/catalog/checkout_shipping.php on line 140

Fatal error: main() [function.main]: Failed opening required 'includes/languages/portugues/checkout_shipping.php' (include_path='') in /home/inaudi/public_html/catalog/checkout_shipping.php on line 140

With this one i don't have a clue, i think it may be someting to do with the php instalation bu i can't figure out what. I'm usinq Trustix and php 4.3.1 that i installed after the main trustix instalation.

Just a Personal Note: :!:

So I remember this. :idea:

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin'); // absolute path required

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin'); // absolute path required

Maybe I should make sure this is not the default name maybe something like 236admin112

and also make the folder admin same as this this.

236admin112

Personal note seems more secure :!: :shock:

................................................................................

........................

Now for poster:

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin/'); // absolute path required

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/shoresid/public_html/catalog/admin/'); // absolute pate required

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); // absolute path required

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/shoresid/public_html/catalog/'); // absolute path required

:!: something does not seem right too me here :shock:

orginal code reads :!:

:arrow:

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/admin/');

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_ADMIN);

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_CATALOG);

Source of information orginal :!:
