CSS Stylesheet - productListing-heading

wade

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to change the text and hover text for my product listing table header in the stylesheet.css file. This is the table header with: Model, Product Name, Manufacturer, Price, etc.

I'm using a custom background for the table header and the default text of the site is black. I want the text of this table elements to be an orange color, but the default black doesn't seem to want to budge.

The obvious, to me would be to add:

A.productListing-heading {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: none;

}

A.productListing-heading:hover {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: underline;

}

to the stylesheet, which i've done in several variations, but it never takes on any of these attributes. The text remains the default #000000 in the A tag at the top of the stylesheet.

Any suggestions? I've searched here, and visited: http://wiki.oscommerce.com/helpHowtoStylesheetCatalog

You can see what I'm talking about (till hopefully someone provides a working solution) at:

TIA

The class productListing-heading is not on any <a> elements. It is on the containing <td> element.

so

td.productListing-heading a {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: none;

}

td.productListing-heading a:hover {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: underline;

}

Hey Brenden, perfect help, thanks very much! I'm not comfortable enough with CSS to understand why, but it does work and I appreciate the help.

Why this works

A.productListing-heading {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: none;

}

A.productListing-heading:hover {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: underline;

}

This would make any instance of <a class="productListing-heading">Link</a> The color #FF7E00 with no underline. Once hovered it will have an underline

td.productListing-heading a {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: none;

}

td.productListing-heading a:hover {

color: #FF7E00;

text-decoration: underline;

}

This would make any instance of <a></a> within the <td class="productListing-heading> the color #FF7E00 with no underline. Once hovered it will have an underline
