Modifying Search Box Text

Recommended Posts

I am trying to remove the text under the standard search box. I found the location of the text in a php module, but when I remove it, some other "default" text is entered instead. I am trying to get the search box much smaller, so it's just a header, text input box and the search graphic.

I tried commenting out the whole line, but then I get an error.

I've searched this forum, and I can't find anything on this subject. I get a bunch of search results that aren't relevant.

Thanks in advance for the help. :cry:

Do it like this - english.php (or whatever language you use):

define('BOX_SEARCH_TEXT', ' ');

You must leave the empty quotes or you will get an error... if you comment the line entirely you will have 'BOX_SEARCH_TEXT' displayed...

Thanks for the help, but my goal was to get rid of the text and the space it was taking up, so the search box as a whole became much smaller, down about 2 lines versus the current 5.

I'll keep trying.

Thanks again.

But you have lost the advanced search link.... :shock:
