westkoast
K, I read the OSCdox and also searched around but couldn't find out what was wrong. I have Ian's Loaded, and I don't understand how downloads works. When the user purchases...where is the link for them to download? I added the name of the downloadable .pdf file to an attribute, and then attached it to a product. Then I ordered the product, but I don't see a link anywhere to download it...where does the link normally appear? I need to read the rules more often... Akshara
I'm having the same problem... everything appears to be configured according to all of the instructions I've read, but for the life of me I cannont figure out where the actual download link is. I've read that it's supposed to show up in Your Account in a couple of threads, but it's not showing up there for me. Any help would be appreciated... ps. the download/ and pub/ folders are chmod 777 and 775. The admin is true/true/0/10. The file is spelled exactly right under attributes, including case. I've seen other posts referring to unclickable links and blank pages, but in this case there's simply no link showing up at all.
Akshara
To bad we can't edit posts here... I meant to say chmod is download/=755 and pub/=777.
Akshara
Update It's all of a sudden working now... man talk about frustrating. It hasn't been working all day and then it just starts. I have the same settings I had three hours ago...? I don't know what to think now. I still have to say that searching through these forums for any kind of answers is like diving for a needle in a haystack, because the same topics keep showing up over and over - but none of them have any constructive answers in them. I always dread having something go wrong with the cart because I know I'm going to have to spend a day sifting through the mess here to find the answer. I wish the devs would consider setting up a premium tech support service, like they have over at Invision Power Services? Or posting more sticky threads to basic questions and solutions. mouthsuit
Wow. Same thing is happening to me, but it hasn't miraculously fixed itself yet. But I've seen it happen before. I even dl'ed the Download Controller and got it all working to a point, but like you, the link just doesn't show up after checkout. I still get the "your order will be shipped" message at the end. If anyone figures anything out, please let me know. Thanks.
mouthsuit
As usual, I (mostly) figure it out after posting a message. Everything was working right, I just wasn't paying attention to the status. Of course, i didn't think I had to watch the status, since I set it up as a free download, but once I went into admin and changed the status, it worked. Now I'll just have to dig a little and see why it doesn't automatically set the status of free downloads to the right status. Maybe this will help someone else from ripping their hair out... <_<
