Chris,

I spend a couple of days trying to figure out why something wasn't showing in the catalog.....then it was pointed out to me there wasn't an output statement.........Doh!!! We all sympathize with you. Hang in there!

What about when you have a backup copy of your site... and you look through it to find the differences you need... and you end up reverting your new file to the old!

Gotta hate it when that happens! DOH!

Also... what about when you make changes for an hour in the files in your backup directory, wondering why they're not effecting your site layout!

Gotta hate that too! DOH!

I especially enjoy making changes for a site ... nothing is changing ... because I am working on the wrong site locally ...

Been there, done that!!!!

Or in my new toy, Beyond Compare and I save the file and save the file and can't figure out why I don't see any changes (see above posts) Didn't ftp yet!!!

Or!!! ftp'd to wrong directory.

Work on one site at a time, one site at a time, one store format at time, one store format at a time. Forget it, what fun is that?????

We are too smart for our own britches

How about the one:

You try and fix a bug that doesn't exsist.

Or try and fix something that isn't broke.

10+ hours on Friday ...

And my latest favorite ... :stupid:

Have the right function ... have the syntax ... but cannot get the damn thing to work forever ...

Re-write the code a zillion times ... have it working in other files ... but not where you need it to work ...

Finally ... hours ... days ... later ... sure would of worked better on that first line of code if you had added an *echo* in front of it ...

Yep, they'll get you coming and going......leave them out and things don't work or leave an extra one in and then can't find it....They'll drive you to distraction.

LOL, I have purchased a PDA in the last month because of an incentive from work ($100 towards the purchase is a VERY big incentive) and that helps when the great idea comes when you are walking down the street or riding on the subway. However it won't help in the shower, unless you can step out and type!!!

I've always found that I do my best thinking about software when I'm somewhere that doesn't have access to a computer. I think it's because I can't start typing before I've thought it through.

In olden times the men were made of iron and the ships were made of wood; now it's the other way around.

I need to learn to type in my sleep. I have figured out some of the hardest problems, sleeping or in process of going to. I found if I get stumped, just drop it and go onto something else and then sleep on it. And it just comes to me. I do this in woodworking too. Half my remodel of my old house was planned in my sleep.

What about when you're so tired... been awake for a couple of days straight... taking hits (ie. nodding head)... you just have to go to sleep because you can't stay awake... you don't wan't to go to sleep because the changes you're making aren't working.

Wake up in the morning and your files look like... umm... the equivelent of your 2 y/o waking up an hour before you and discovering one of your best books and a box of crayons. :?

Last tme I did this was a few nights ago... I'm trying to learn from it, but I must admit that I'm a repeat offender!

Don't you hate when your text is over on the left ... and you know you have it set for the right ... only to discover that while using valign and align together in the code that in 3 out of 4 cases you used valign valign and not align valign?

<insert wicked mutterings here>

Boy do I feel dumb.....I'm helping a friend add a couple of things and I downloaded the stylesheet...made the change. Uploaded the stylesheet, looked and nothing had changed......Cleared the cache, refreshed......still nothing.....Checked the CSS to make sure there wasn't a typo, checked the page to make sure the class was correct.....Tried it all again.....STILL NOTHING........Hardcoded the change in the page, upload and it works.....Hhhhmmmm......Get out the stylesheet reference material....Triple check the stylesheet, upload again, refresh the page......NOTHING!!!! Went to bed, got up this morning and realized that the Thema is installed and of course the stock stylesheet doesn't work......What a pain!
