Toll free numbers?

Hi Everyone,

 

I hope this is the most appropiate category to post this. I think this probably applies to eveyone that comes to this board as we are all looking to drive sales.

 

I am looking for general input as to the value of having a toll free number available. Everyone's opinion counts here, but I'm very interested in hearing from people who have added one to their site. Does the phone ring more often? Did it translate into more sales?

Toll free numbers might give your clients a little more confidence in your store. However you must answer the phone when they call. Are you going to have set hours for answering the calls? 800 numbers are easy to get and not too expensive. Will you accept calls from out of the country?

 

International calls are generally more expensive for a international 800.

 

Do your homework on the costs.

 

Frankly I do not think that a 800 number will increase sales and it is another cost that you must charge back to your clients by increasing the prices of your products.
