Ajeh
Sounds like perhaps you have a typo on the name of the location, database, login or password for the database. Check your /includes/configure.php for both the Admin and Catalog and make sure the settings are correct.
magregus
Well its not database related cause I get different error there, pretty sure the database is setup correctly, i dont have to add tables to the mysql database or anything do i? Ajeh
Look at your MySQL file with phpMyAdmin ... is there anything in it? Should be at least 46 tables depending on which exact version you loaded.
Ajeh
Here is a method of how I do a manual install. It's still pretty accurate and perhaps will help you out: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...ht=install+v2+2 The only thing not necessary is doing a Binary upload. Auto works fine. magregus
but now in the config paeg on certain items i get 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'MAX_DISPLAY_SEARCH_RESULTS' at line 1 whats this mean? Ajeh
Can you go to phpMyAdmin ... Click on configuration table ... Sort by configuration_key ... Find MAX_DISPLAY_SEARCH_RESULTS ... How many rows contain MAX_DISPLAY_SEARCH_RESULTS as the configuration_key? And what is the configuration_value set to?
