Too many required fields in create_account.php

I am more looking at making a partial customers account that can later on be completed when something is added to the cart.

But thanks for the info on the other ... there are a lot of other benefits to the separate files.

I tried to start working on this, but haven't gotten too far.

My initial idea was to (I tried starting with an account that has no default address) redirect to CHECKOUT_SHIPPING_ADDRESS if no address is selected. This plan seems flawed though, and I haven't been able to get it to work anyway :P

Has anyone made any progess at all on something like this?

May I ask what're the pros and cons of synchronising info between customers table and subscribers table? I am wondering if it'd be even better not to synchronise info between customers table and subscribers table because in that case the store owner would have the option to send certain special offers to customers only and not to all subscribers. (For example, subscribers would have 10% off but customers would have 20% of etc.) I mean the store owner can send the newsletters to two different lists.

I am wondering the reason why people like to synchronise info between customers table and subscribers table between by doing so, the customers would have the option to unsubscribe because in the default settings of oscommerce, the admin cannot unsubscribe the customers unless the admin delete that customer's account from the admin panel. may I ask if I am correct?

The newsletter contrib looks pretty cool, but it's not what I'm looking for. Being signed up for the newsletter should create a partial account, like Linda said.

I don't want to get into that right now, it'll just have to stay the way it is for the time being :)

Best regards,

Elmo

Oops I just found that admin can unsubscribe customers in the admin panel.
