Alex P
Do I need SSL when I use Paypal, WorldPay etc? I' ve heard that only with merchant accounts we Do need a host with SSL.
burt
The only reason why you need SSL is if you are accepting Credit Card Numbers on *your own site*. If you are sending your buyers off to Worldpay, Protx, Paypal, 2checkout etc - you don't need SSL. However, some people choose to have it anyway, to increase consumer confidence. AG
Hi Burt, Isn't it better to have the Admin section under SSL though? AG
Alex P
Hi AG As soon as you hit "chekout", it is better to use SSL from that point. But this means extra modifications to the code I think? ALex ------

I am using 2 Checkout as well, I thought you had to have SSL for 2checkout? Doesn't it ask for the credit card on "your site"? Thanks in advance

ALex ------ Of course Alex but if one was using Worldpay that would be no need. But you still haven't answered my question, if it's better to have admin section in SSL. orchard
You can put your admin under SSL by getting the settings in admin/includes/configure.php setup correctly. My admin directory is protected using passwords setup through the password protected directory section of the administration area of my web site hosting. Other people using CPanel or .htaccess.
