JonPKibble
I have PayPal all set up, and on PayPal's site I have it set up to return to the checkout_payment.php file. I did a test payment, and it worked fine - I got the email and the order appeared on the site. My question is, do I need the PayPal IPN contribution file? Or can I just use PayPal the way it comes pre-configured?
hobbzilla
Well, I guess that is the question. If you are satisfied with the stock osc paypal module by all means use it. But, if you are like me, and some of the other osc users who use PayPal and implemented Pablo's IPN mod for the reasons given in his readme.txt file (which basically let's you know what paypal payment is with what order number under all circumstances -- the user didn't hit the continue button is usually the #1 sited reason for employing this mod), the by all means install it! There are specific posts (under Contrib's section of forums) for the IPN mod.. be a "search-buddy" and do a Search for "IPN"!
JonPKibble
Well I don't see how I couldn't match the order with the products, it's all in the OSC interface :) As far as them not hitting the continue button - I made my own fix for that:
JonPKibble
Interestingly enough, 2Checkout has a similiar warning of their own, telling the customer they MUST hit "Finish" to complete the order, after the card is charged. I wish PayPal could do that!

JonPKibble
From what I've read it seems more people are having troubles with IPN than aren't. But if someone here can install IPN for me at a reasonable fee, please e-mail me.
