Payment module got corrupted - Please help

Hi,

We are using osCommerce Online Merchant v2.3, after the recent change with authorize.net API 2015 - credit card payment stopped working. I had requested help in a previous post, eventually I ended up hiring some PHP freelance developer to fix the issue of Authorize.net. Now he seem to have deleted all the pre-packed payment modules other than Authorize.net and paypal - as a result the payment module got conflicted - in admin it shows installed module 47 but if you click on it does not show anything.

Now I have a 2014 backup, but the front end of the site has changed drastically since then, so is there a way to fix this module conflict, without replacing the whole site with old backup? cause we really beed to use the credit card payment and since we could not get the authorize.net to work again, we hope to use Paypal Pro hosted solution plugin to take cc payment again. But we cannot install it unless the module conflict is rectified.

Please someone help!!!

Thanks

As far as I know, none of the changes by authorize.net will officially take affect until June and, even then, if you are using a module released for oscommerce the change is minor. So it sounds like you paid for something that wasn't needed, at least right away. It is one of the dangers of using freelancers. They may be very talented programmers but not have the experience to be working on the shop.

It sounds like the paypal module was installed and he removed it by replacing files. That can leave the database corrupted. You can replace all of the payment modules files and see if that will get it working again but your database may have to be manually edited.

For paypal, you probably should just install the paypal app. That has all of the paypal modules in it and works better than previous paypal modules. As I recall, there was a problem with the Paypal Advanced module working in all versions of oscommerce but the Pro module works in any of them.

Without knowing what the freelancer changed, it is difficult to advise what should be done. But in the least, you should backup everything as it is now.
